Branch Banking & Trust Co. sold the former BankAtlantic headquarters building in Fort Lauderdale for $21 million.
The 193,165-square-foot building at 2100 West Cypress Creek Road - on the north side of Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport - was built in 2005 by the bank. When BB&T acquired BankAtlantic in 2012, it also picked up the building and its 14.2-acre property. Other assets of the bank remained with former parent company BBX Capital Corp. (NYSE: BBX).
